Beginning business is one of the best ways of eradicating or reducing living below the bread line. When a large number of people thought of a business as selling fruits and vegetables, hairdressing and so on, Ayanda Kweletsi Mabilo, 22 from Soshanguve Block CC decided to showcase his God given talent of manufacturing and fixing bicycles.

A bicycle, often called a bike or cycle, is a human-powered, pedal-driven, single-track vehicle, having two wheels attached to a frame, one behind the other. Ayanda started fixing bicycles at the age of nine, and manufacturing them started in 2014 March at the backyard of his home. “I grew up with the love and passion for bicycles. My parents managed to get me two bicycles when I was young and when they got broken I fixed them myself, and that is when I saw what I was capable”, said the young entrepreneur.

He further said that when he noticed how he was showered with customers, he then decided to manufacture them from scratch and he has already sold more than 150 bicycles. “One of his customers Kagiso Gassa, 16 from Boepathutsi Junior Secondary School, said that Ayanda makes cycling easy for him because he services his bicycle time and again. “I value bicycles because I can ride it anytime and its fast for short distances.

“Bicycles are no motor-fuel consumption, they are an exercise and there is no resulting pollution from them’’, said Mabilo.
