AFRICA DAY CELEBRATION This is a day that is celebrated continental by all the countries in the continent of Africa on the 25 th May of every year. In some countries such as Ghana, Lesotho, Zambia, Mali, Namibia and Zimbabwe this day is regarded as a public holiday while in all the other countries it is celebrated but not regarded as a public holiday. Asked about this day, members of the community had a lot to say about wat this day is and what it means to them. Sbongile Nyembe, a chef at Blessings Social Development Centre said that Africa day to her means that working together as Africans and be united. "every in the world where there are Africans, they should know each other and be united”, Nyembe said.
