MUSIC IS OUR LIFE!  Andrew Gininda The Spharaphara music crew Loxion Spharaphara is a group of young boys from Tsakane extension 13. They were born and grew up in the township. They met from the township and they decide to come up with the group and start making music. “We stated Loxion Spharaphara (their group) in 2008, there were three of us when we started the group and they asked me to come up with a name we will use so I came up with Loxion Spharaphara and they loved it,” said Mamfengu who is one of the group members. Mamfengu said they (him and the group) were motivated by listening to popular hip hop musicians and they decided that they can also do what those artists do and that’s when they came together and come up with the group. They have three albums named: Friday the 13th they released in 2009, Boom vibe they released in 2014 and Senza kanje the released in 2015. “I used to dance and that made me come home at night so I decided to follow music and up

AFRICA DAY CELEBRATION This is a day that is celebrated continental by all the countries in the continent of Africa on the 25 th May of every year. In some countries such as Ghana, Lesotho, Zambia, Mali, Namibia and Zimbabwe this day is regarded as a public holiday while in all the other countries it is celebrated but not regarded as a public holiday. Asked about this day, members of the community had a lot to say about wat this day is and what it means to them. Sbongile Nyembe, a chef at Blessings Social Development Centre said that Africa day to her means that working together as Africans and be united. "every in the world where there are Africans, they should know each other and be united”, Nyembe said. Mr Mnisi, a teacher at Buhlebemfundo secondary school in Tsakane said Africa day to him means celebrating African culture and tradition.
