Gauteng Government to host
Child Protection Indaba
The Gauteng Department of Social Development together with
the Department of Justice, Home Affairs, Lawyers for Human Rights and
Adoption Coalition will on Thursday, 01 June 2017 launch the two-day
Provincial Child Protection Indaba at Parktonian Hotel, in Johannesburg.
The indaba is tailor-made to raise awareness on the annual
Child Protection Week to mobilize all sectors and communities
towards the perspective of a holistic development and protection of
children.
"The engagement will focus on undocumented children in
the province as they usually fall in the cracks. Furthermore, the Department
and all roles players will discuss social development issues such as
education, social security, health among others," says MEC Nandi
Mayathula-Khoza.

Please note: the Gauteng Department of Social Development
will also visit more than 450 children at Mndeni Secondary School, in Soweto
on the 3rd June 2017, 09H00 to raise awareness on cyber bullying,
crime, child abuse and neglect.
